Soroptimist International of Boise, sponsored by Soroptimist International of Salt Lake City, Utah, was founded on October 12, 1940, with 20 charter members.  The first Installation Banquet, October 12, 1940, was held in the Crystal Ballroom of the Hotel Boise.  Today the club has 43 members.  The Boise club is part of the Rocky Mountain Region which represents over 600 members in 25 clubs located from Malheur County in Oregon, Southern Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and the Panhandle of Nebraska.

As part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, one of the Federations of Soroptimist International, we join over 90,000 members in 125 countries to have a global voice for women's rights, health, education and other issues working through Awareness, Advocacy and Action.  "A Global Voice...A Global Vision."  Find out more by visiting Soroptimist International.

The first Soroptimist club was formed in 1921 by a group of 80 women in Oakland, Alameda County, California. They chose their name from two Latin words meaning "best for women."
